Multiorbital Hubbard model in infinite dimensions: Quantum Monte Carlo calculation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Using the quantum Monte Carlo technique we compute thermodynamics and spectra for the orbitally degenerate Hubbard model in infinite spatial dimensions. With increasing orbital degeneracy we find in the one-particle spectra broader Hubbard bands ~consistent with increased kinetic energy!, a narrowing Mott gap, and increasing quasiparticle spectral weight. Hund’s rule exchange coupling decreases the critical on-site Coulomb energy for the Mott transition. The metallic regime resistivity for twofold degeneracy is quadratic in temperature at low temperatures. @S0163-1829~98!50132-4#

Single Mott transition in the multiorbital Hubbard model
The Mott transition in a multiorbital Hubbard model involving subbands of different widths is studied within the dynamical mean-field theory. Using the iterated perturbation theory for the quantum impurity problem it is shown that at low temperatures interorbital Coulomb interactions give rise to a single first-order transition rather than a sequence of orbital selective transitions. Impurity c...
متن کاملPhase diagram of the bose Hubbard model
The first reliable analytic calculation of the phase diagram of the bose gas on a d-dimensional lattice with on-site repulsion is presented. In one dimension, the analytic calculation is in excellent agreement with the numerical Monte Carlo results. In higher dimensions, the deviations from the Monte Carlo calculations are larger, but the correct shape of the Mott insulator lobes is still obtai...
متن کاملFinite Temperature Mott Transition in the Hubbard Model in Infinite Dimensions
We study the second order finite temperature Mott transition point in the fully frustrated Hubbard model at half filling, within dynamical mean field theory. Using quantum Monte Carlo simulations and analytical arguments, we show the existence of a finite temperature second order critical point by explicitly demonstrating the existence of a divergent susceptibility as well as by finding coexist...
متن کاملVertex-corrected perturbation theory for the electron-phonon problem with non-constant density of states
A series of weak-coupling perturbation theories which include the lowestorder vertex corrections are applied to the attractive Holstein model in infinite dimensions. The approximations are chosen to reproduce the iterated perturbation theory in the limit of half-filling and large phonon frequency (where the Holstein model maps onto the Hubbard model). Comparison is made with quantum Monte Carlo...
متن کاملQuantum Monte Carlo Evidence for d-wave Pairing in the 2D Hubbard Model at a van Hove Singularity
We implement a Quantum Monte Carlo calculation for a repulsive Hubbard model with nearest and next-nearest neighbor hopping interactions on clusters up to 12 × 12. A parameter region where the Fermi level lies close to the van Hove singularity at the Saddle Points in the bulk band structure is investigated. A pairing tendency in the dx2−y2 symmetry channel, but no other channel, is found. Estim...
